KARACHI The 51st death anniversary of Baba-e-Urdu Molvi Abdul Haq will be observed on August 16. This was announced in a statement of Anjuman Taraqqi Urdu Pakistan issued here on Monday. It said that Administrator Karachi, Muhammad Hussain Syed, will lay floral wreath at the mazar of Baba-i-Urdu and will offer Fateha. The president and office bearers of Anjuman Taraqqi Urdu Pakistan will also lay floral wreath and offer Fateha. The faculty and students of the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) and people from various walks of life would also visit the mazar to pay respect to Baba-i-Urdu Molvi Abdul Haq. Islamabad: A 13-year old Pakistan student Moosa Firoz has secured a first position in online World Mathematics Competition held in Australia. According to report, Fairoz, resident of Phalian Punjab, student of Beacon House School System was awarded gold medal in Australia recently. Fairoz secured 4405 points and got the first place while another Pakistani student Hasnain got second position in the competition with 4303 points in 11-13 years age category. In a category of age 14-18 years, the country’s another student named Osama secured second place with 3318 points. About 1.57 million students from all over the world took part in the competition. Karachi  The VC, Federal Urdu University for Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) Professor Dr Muhammad Qaiser (Jan 08 to Present) is being considered as the strongest candidate to for the vacant post of VC in University of Karachi, as the KU VC Dr. Peerzada Qasim completed his term second time in January. Born on August 15, 1946, Professor Qaiser completed his PhD in 1976.  Professor Qaiser completed his MSc from KU in 1967 and later joined the university as an assistant lecturer of Botany. He worked as a research officer at the same department from 1969 to 71, and later served as lecturer from 1971 to 77. During 1979-82, he took leave from KU and went to Al-Faateh University, Tripoli, Libya, to teach Botany as an assistant professor. Later, he joined Frei Universitat, Berlin, Germany, where he completed his post-doctorate (1984 to 1985) and did 18 months’ research on the genus Phagnalon Cass - Compositae.

The Indian Institute of Architects (IIA), Chandigarh-Punjab Chapter organized "Young Architects Festival" from 14-16 October, 2011 at Chandigarh. LAHORE In what could simply be described as an enormous loss for Pakistan, Arfa Karim, the world's youngest Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), lost the battle of life after remaining admitted here at Combined Military Hospital on Saturday night, Geo News reported. Arfa Karim was only sixteen years old. Her funeral prayers will be offered on Sunday at 10 AM in Cantt area. Arifa Karim remained in intensive care at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) after suffering an epileptic seizure and cardiac arrest a few weeks ago. After battling for life for 26 days, one of Pakistan's brightest brains left this world for good.
