NBEAC: Accreditation Authority for Pakistani Business Schools

NBEAC is a sub authority of HEC as Higher Education Commission has been authorized in article 3 Sub-Section (e) to set up national or regional evaluation council or authorize any existing, council or similar body to carry out accreditation of Institutions including their departments, faculties and disciplines by giving them appropriate rating.

The purpose of NBEAC is to assure quality in Business Administration/ Public Administration/ Management Sciences degree programs according to the proposed accreditation in educational institutions. It requires a program to meet certain defined standards or criteria.The accreditation is for specific degree programs and not for the institutions.Moreover, accreditation is not to be confused with certification. In general, institutions and programs are accredited, and individuals are certified.

Although the NBEAC is under the process of its evolution & currently there is no accreditation list available on their website but after some time hopefully the body would play great role in the standardization & improvement of Business Schools in Pakistan.

FUUAST Englineering, Law & Pharmacy Recognised

KARACHI, Aug 28 The engineering, law and pharmacy faculties of the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (Fuuast) have been registered in the academic councils concerned, says a statement issued here on Tuesday. After the registration, the degrees awarded by the faculties would have proper recognition in the job market and the national and international educational institutions, it said. FUUAST Officers Welfare Forum hosted a reception to celebrate the occasion and presented a shield to Karachi University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Qaiser in recognition of his efforts in this regard. Computer lab inaugurated at FUUAST

KARACHI Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Qaiser on Friday inaugurated the state-of-the-art computer laboratory in the Department of Computer Science and Information Science, FUUAST. Speaking at the inaugural ceremony held at the university’s main campus, the FUUAST VC Prof Dr Muhammad Qaiser, who is also serving as KU VC, said the research work was considered as an identity of any university. “The FUUAST has established various latest laboratories in many departments during the last four years. Department of Computer Science is one of the said departments, where students are engaged in their research work day and night.
