FUUAST - analytical report on media

Students of Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) have presented a report on media, criticising that it has bulldozed the ethics of journalism just to beat each other in breaking news.

The reports was presented during a ceremony held with the cooperation of Non-governmental organization (NGO) Uks, at the Karachi Press Club here on Wednesday.

Special correspondent of BBC Wusatullah Khan was the chief guest on the occasion. While Tasneem Ahmer, director (Uks), Professor Dr. Tauseef, chairman of Mass Communication of FUUAST also participated the ceremony.

Addressing the ceremony, Wusatullah Khan appreciated the report and said that this was a very good example of presenting an analytical report by students.

He further said that people has the right to ask questions regarding the role of media to present the news because the current media has now become a product and people are really confused to believe on its reports.

Tasneem Ahmer described the objective of the report and said that indecent language and showing immoral picture was the main reason to present a report in which we expressed our feelings.

“The report was wonderful”, she added

Participants has demanded to published the report in Urdu language and should be included in curriculum. At the end of the ceremony certificates were distributed among the students who prepared the report.

Computer lab inaugurated at FUUAST

KARACHI Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Qaiser on Friday inaugurated the state-of-the-art computer laboratory in the Department of Computer Science and Information Science, FUUAST. Speaking at the inaugural ceremony held at the university’s main campus, the FUUAST VC Prof Dr Muhammad Qaiser, who is also serving as KU VC, said the research work was considered as an identity of any university.  “The FUUAST has established various latest laboratories in many departments during the last four years.
